Yea... the Virtual Camera aka V-cam is a system use to zoom in and out really easily without having to skew the actual sprites yourself.

Life bars are outmoded in sprite fights anyway, VCAM or no VCAM. Much better to have the viewers focusing on the fight rather than the life bars.
